What's the most important thing you learned about travel?

I love to travel and strongly believe “The World is a book and those who do not travel read only a page” – Saint Augustine. What one learns in a classroom is a very small part of what is actually out there in the real world, I would rather see a new place once rather than hear about it a 100 times.
